The Activities Column

Its been a great, bad and ugly kind of week for me.

I hit the trifecta at Pimlico–thats good. Dig up additional resources on the affiliated encyclopedia by visiting

My Little League kiddies went 0-3 with Coach Reavy in attendance–thats poor.

And Wednesday night, upon hearing of the truth collapse of my dawg, Elliot Yamin, I was both sad to listen to the news and disappointed in the conclusion that I’d just watched 12 direct attacks of American Idol, spanning two months–thats…well, you get the point.

Luckily for me, but, the sports world is never without its good, poor and ugly times also.

Here are the high (and low )lights of-the week thats passed.

The Good:

Todd Bonds 714th homerun ball–for Tyler Snyder, it was caught by the guy who. Definitely the eBay–er, Bay Area– dedicated are happy with their slugger, and might even open up their checkbooks to create a bid for the traditional boost. But, if you ask me, nothing tells the story more beautifully than these four words uttered by Tyler, the soon-to-be rich Athletics fan (because of Bonds), following the game: I hate that person.

The NBA play-offs. I cant help but marvel at the series which have been played up to this point, while the highlight of my baseball season is undoubtedly the NBA draft. It surely has made me forget the NHL is on strike. (Editors note: Kevin doesnt receive the OLN channel.)

After losing five directly, the Phillies finally won.

The Bad:

After losing five straight, the Phillies finally won.

Cubs catcher, Michael Barrett, punched AJ Pierzynski after a collision at home plate. This can be a bad thing only because I do believe when delivering the blow Barrett might have hurt his hand.

NBC started broadcasting periods of-the National Heads-Up Poker Championship. This might be a good thing had ESPN not decided to air roughly 300 episodes of World Series of Poker tournaments on a constant loop on ESPN routes 1thru 6. This may be cool if Celebrity Poker and the World Poker Tour Who Gives werent to a Crap currently force-feeding its addictive felt-and-clay-chip considerable attraction down my throat.Instead, its overkill. Perhaps not because I hate watching poker shows on TV, but because I watch them all. And I want my entire life back.

The Ugly:

Just one single thing…
